Hi, I'm Onur Özkan.

I am a former maintainer of the Rust programming language, working primarily on compiler bootstrapping.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time reading in my home library, contributing to the Linux kernel and maintaining open-source projects.

I also run Orkavian Teknoloji, a self-funded, weekend-only R&D lab where I design and experiment with cyberpunk-grade next-generation UAV technologies, including AI piloting systems, sensor systems, concurrent CV & AI processing pipelines optimized for edge devices, wireless peer-to-peer communication protocols on top of raw radio signals and the full physical stack from carbon-fiber structures to low-level electronics. As highlighted in Dronecode's 2025 report, we were one of the top 10 organizations contributing to some of the most critical software projects powering many robotics and UAV systems in use today.

I am available for engineering consultancy and collaboration work. If you think I can help, feel free to reach out by email or Matrix.
